BaZi · Four Pillars
Calculate your Four Pillars
BaZi, literally “eight characters”, is Chinese calendar astrology. Your birth becomes four pillars, each made of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. You get them together with your birth chart, from the same details.
1 · Solar year
Year and month follow the position of the Sun: the BaZi year begins with Lichun, the start of spring around 4 February.
2 · True local time
Day and hour are calculated by true solar time at the place of birth, without daylight saving or time-zone offset.
3 · Day Master
The Heavenly Stem of your birth day stands for you yourself. We also show the distribution of the five elements.
BaZi serves self-reflection and doesn't predict events. Without a birth time the hour pillar is missing. How we calculate is explained in the methodology.
