2. The essentials in brief

• No user account, no login, no newsletter, no advertising cookies.
• Birth details are used solely to calculate your birth chart, stored encrypted and deleted automatically after 30 days.
• We never send names or exact birth details to the AI system for the reading summary — only abstract, calculated chart properties.
• Our audience measurement works without cookies and without personal profiles.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen) in a German data centre; a data processing agreement is in place with Hetzner. When you visit the website, the server processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, time, page requested, user agent) in logs that serve operational security and are deleted after a short time. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (secure operation).

4. Birth chart calculation (birth details)

To calculate a birth chart we process the details you enter: optional first name, date of birth, time of birth (optional) and place of birth. The calculation runs on our own server; the place search only accesses a self-hosted database — your input does not leave our systems for this. The result is stored under an unguessable address so that you can open and share it again; the input data is stored encrypted. After 30 days the result expires and the data is deleted automatically. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (provision of the service you requested).

4a. Star Match (details of a second person)

For the Star Match you enter the birth details of two people. You may only enter the second person's details if they agree to it; the first name is optional. Both entries are stored encrypted like a single birth chart and deleted after the same period. The result link is unguessable but shows both birth dates — whoever has it sees the result. For the AI-assisted summary the language model receives only abstract chart properties (signs, contacts, score), never names, birth details or places.

5. AI-assisted reading summary

For the personal summary of your chart we use a language model by Anthropic PBC (USA) via their API. We send only abstract chart properties (e.g. “Sun in Aries, house 1”) — never your name, your date of birth, your time of birth or your place of birth. The provider cannot identify a person from this data. A data processing agreement is in place with Anthropic; the transfer to the USA is based on EU standard contractual clauses. The generated texts are cached by the abstract chart properties. AI-assisted texts are marked on the website and in the PDF. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

6. Orders and payment

When you buy a digital product we process your email address for delivery and transactional messages. It is stored encrypted and removed automatically 90 days after the order is completed; after that only anonymous order data (product, amount, status) remains for internal statistics and accounting. Payment is handled by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin, Ireland); Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller or processor and is subject to its own regulatory retention obligations — we ourselves never receive or store payment data. Details: stripe.com/privacy. We send transactional emails via a mailbox at Hetzner Online GmbH (see section 3). Legal bases: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contract), Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR (legal obligations).

7. Audience measurement and statistics

We measure the use of the website with a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics. Plausible works without cookies and without cross-device profiles. The measurement runs via our own domain: we pass the IP address and browser identifier to our Plausible server, which uses a daily rotating key to derive a visitor value that cannot be reversed; IP addresses are not stored. Besides page views we record individual events such as “form started”, “calculated” or “link copied” — without names, birth details or places. We remove the identifiers in result page addresses before transmission. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (interest in aggregated audience measurement). You can object informally by email.

In addition, we count on our server which results are calculated — for example zodiac sign combinations, Tarot cards, the decade of birth and the country of the place of birth. Only daily totals are stored, with no link to a person, a result or a time of day. These totals are not personal data.

8. Cookies

We set no cookies for advertising, profiling or analytics. That is why there is no cookie banner.

The only exception is a technically necessary language cookie: when you open the start page, we remember the language you chose (German or English) in the cookie “gh-locale”, so you are not redirected on every visit. It contains only the language code, is not analysed and is valid for one year. Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (interest in showing the site in your language). Your choice between light and dark theme is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to us.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21). To do so, contact us informally at hallo@geburtshimmel.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
