Capricorn and Aquarius
Earth meets air · Order and renewal
Capricorn and Aquarius traditionally share Saturn as their ruler: both are serious, true to principle and self-reliant. Capricorn preserves the order, Aquarius renews it – a cool, respectful combination with opposite directions.
First encounter
Capricorn finds Aquarius interesting but unreliable; Aquarius finds Capricorn dependable but rigid. Both are reserved with feelings and value that in the other. The first encounter is matter-of-fact, respectful and carried by a conversation about ideas or projects. Neither closeness nor haste – both take their time and gradually find each other through a shared seriousness.
What connects you
Both are loyal, self-reliant and not very sentimental. Both think long-term – Capricorn in years, Aquarius in decades. Aquarius gives Capricorn ideas, breadth and permission to question rules; Capricorn gives Aquarius implementation, structure and the proof that visions need foundations. Working together they are strong: Aquarius designs, Capricorn builds. Both respect competence and avoid drama.
Where it rubs
Capricorn holds on to what has proved itself, Aquarius wants to abolish it – and both are persistent: Capricorn out of duty, Aquarius out of principle. Capricorn experiences Aquarius as erratic, rebellious and non-committal, Aquarius experiences Capricorn as conservative, controlling and humourless. Feelings are a side issue for both, and together the connection can turn very cool. The translation: Capricorn recognises the new as an opportunity, Aquarius recognises the proven as a base – and both cultivate warmth, even though it is not their speciality.
